The Golden State Warriors announced today that 2009 First Round selection Stephen Curry will join Anthony Randolph, Anthony Morrow and Jermareo Davidson, along with newly acquired guard Acie Law, in headlining the team’s summer league squad at the 2009 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Warriors’ assistant coach Keith Smart will serve as the team’s head coach for Summer League.

Golden State’s summer league schedule consists of five games from Friday, July 10, through Thursday, July 16. The 2009 NBA Summer League, which features squads representing 21 NBA teams, takes place from July 10 – 19, with games played at COX Pavilion and the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Warriors have participated in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Curry, who led the nation in scoring last season as a junior at Davidson, will try to follow in the footsteps of Randolph and Morrow, who were among the NBA’s top performers in last year’s summer league action. Randolph, who was selected by the Warriors with the 14th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, played eight summer league games between Las Vegas and the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City, averaging a combined 19.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.00 block in 28.4 minutes per contest. Morrow, who went undrafted as a four-year college player out of Georgia Tech, played in seven summer league games with Golden State, averaging a combined 18.1 points and 4.7 rebounds, while shooting 54.9% (50-91 FG) from the field and 73.9% (17-23 3FG) from long range. He was named MVP of the Rocky Mountain Revue after averaging 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in four games, while shooting 49.3% (33-67 FG) from the field and 68.8% (11-16 3FG) from three-point range.

Tickets for the 2009 NBA Summer League, presented by EA SPORTS, are on sale and can be purchased by calling 702-739-FANS, through UNLVtickets.com or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office and UNLV Ticket Outlets. All general admission tickets are $25 for the day. Seniors and children (3-12) are $15 for the day and children two years & under are admitted free of charge.
