Career Highlights: Earned First Team Pac-10 All-Freshman honors and was named Pac-
10 Tournament MVP. His 485 points ranks third all-time for a USC freshman and his 201
rebounds ranks fourth.
Freshman (2008-09): Ranked third on team in points (13.9 ppg), second in rebounds (5.7
rpg), third in assists (1.5 apg), and second in field-goal percentage (.523, eighth-best in
conference). Started all 35 games, scoring in double figures 28 times and posting four double-
doubles. Scored a career-high 25 points on 10-for-16 shooting to lead his team to a win
over Arizona State in the Pac-10 Tournament final. Scored 21 points along with a careerhigh
13 rebounds against UCLA in the Pac-10 Tournament semifinals. Averaged 19.8 points
in USC’s five postseason games.
High School: Earned First Team Parade All-America honors and First Team Best in the
West honors as a senior. Named to McDonald’s All-America team, where he scored 10
points and won the Slam Dunk Competition. Earned Second Team All-USA honors from
USA Today. Was invited to the Jordan Brand Classic and the Nike Hoop Summit, scoring a
team-high 17 points in the latter. Named to California All-State team and named Moore
League MVP. As a senior, averaged 29.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.0 steals in
leading Compton High to consecutive Moore League championships. As a junior, averaged
22.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.2 steals, while averaging 22.6 points and 8.4
rebounds as a sophomore, and 26.1 points and 8.4 rebounds as a freshman.
Strengths: Big swingman with top-flight athleticism and a very high motor. Dangerous transition
player and finisher around the basket. Capable of defending multiple positions with
his size and lateral quickness. Good rebounder for his position.
Personal: Son of Frank and Diane. First dunked a basketball in sixth grade. |
