CAMP IS HERE!!!!
The team participated in Media Day festivities yesterday and flew to Hawaii where training camp will be held prior to playing the Los Angeles Lakers twice in Honolulu next week.

While in the Aloha State, I will be conducting several interviews with Warriors players and staff, so check back often with the Journal.

Yesterday, I chatted with Kelenna Azubuike. To listen to the interview, click here.

AN OFFER
I can be a conduit between you and the team and we can both benefit in the following manner. You can have me ask a question of your favorite Warrior player or official and I will record their answer and post here on the Journal.

Keep the questions coming!!!

THE ANSWERS ARE COMING …
Obviously, there are some questions surrounding this year’s Warriors team. How will they replace Jason Richardson at the two-guard and who will be the rebounder that Nellie needs? Those answers could be found in camp and I will do my best to find them out for you.

It will be strange to walk into a Warriors practice gym and not see Adonal Foyle though, and I know that many of you wish him success in his new home in Orlando.

Warriors rookie Stephane Lasme could just prove to be the sleeper of the 2007 NBA Draft. (warriors.com photo)

QUESTION —
Hi Tim,
I've been a basketball fan forever. With Stephane Lasme being drafted by Golden State, I'm ready to become a die-hard fan of the Warriors, just like I was a fan of UMass. Yes, I'm from Gabon and here is my question: Do you think Stephane has the potential to fit in with the team? As an insider, what are your thoughts regarding this player?
Thanks,
Igor Pambo
Still believin'

ANSWER —
Igor,
I see the potential for Mr. Lasme and Coach Don Nelson has already said that with his ability to rebound, he could see significant playing time. He is a little undersized for a power forward but he makes up for that with his athletic ability. In short, I think he has a chance to be the sleeper player this season for the Warriors. Training camp could tell us a lot of whether or not he has the potential to be an NBA player in the long term. For more on Lasme, check out this feature story from warriors.com.
Thanks for the interest. Best of luck!
Tim

QUESTION —
Hi Tim,
Will the Warriors have an open practice this year?
Thanks,
Hugh

ANSWER —
Hugh,
They will have an open session but it is not clear when that will be. Keep checking warriors.com and my Journal for the date and time. See you there.
Tim

QUESTION —
Tim,
I was thrilled to hear that Nelson is coming back and I was happy to hear that Barnes had re-signed. Now, the final piece from last year's team is back with the signing of Mickael Pietrus. What was Pietrus waiting for?
Thanks,
Ernie

ANSWER —
Joe,
As you know by now, Mickael is signed and heading for Hawaii. As a restricted free-agent, he and his agent were pursuing other offers, but in the end accepted the Warriors qualifying offer. It will be curious to see how he responds.
Take Care,
Tim
