Strange things happen on long sports road trips. With the Warriors dealing with a eight-game, 13 day trip (the longest in West Coast franchise history), you can count on several things

1. Little or no sleep.
2. Forgetting your hotel room number at least once.
3. A new NBA record for room service club sandwiches.
4. Laughing out loud at the local news anchors in the various foreign cities.
5. Lots and lots of conversation, both basketball and non-basketball.

Our broadcast crew of Tim Roye, Jim Barnett and I have been together for years. Jim has the history stuff (but Tim holds his own). I have all the salary cap and contract info. And Tim is the Cliff Clavin (from Cheers) of the group. He knows fascinating things that people seldom think about.

Our train ride from New York to Philadelphia got us talking about NBA look-a-likes. When you sit courtside broadcasting games, you are so close to the players and coaches that their features leave an indelible imprint on your brain. And yet sometimes they look so much like other people from various walks of life.

Here is the current list. Judge for yourself and feel free to e-mail others.

The Suns point guard could easily be playing centerfield for Chico's Bail Bonds.

Only applies to "Top Gun" era Tom Skerritt.

The Cable Guy could be roaming the sidelines in Indiana.

Could Warriors point guard Baron Davis and Gammy winning rapper/producer Kayne West switch spots?

76ers Kyle Korver could easily stand in for Ashton Kutcher in an episode of Punk'd.

The Warriors Director of Athletic Development Mark Grabow is a dead ringer for Die Hard star.

Denver Head Coach George Karl and John Lithgow - separated at birth?

The 6'1" Kings point guard matches up well with the Dr. Evil clone.

The Trail Blazers forward might have to make a cameo on ER.

Spurs rookie and Pearl Harbor star.

Former Warriors assistant coach and current Atlanta Hawks coach and 80's rap star.

Jeff Van Gundy bares a resemblance to longtime character actor Sam Lloyd, currently on Scrubs.

Only a real NBA die-hard would notice that Bobcat's Primoz Brezec looks like Mr. Big from HBO's Sex in the City
