Get Fit Time Out

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

During the 2011-12 season, Kaiser Permanente and the Warriors are once again teaming up to educate Bay Area youth on the importance of healthy eating and being active. In an effort to highlight the program, the Warriors and Kaiser Permanente are presenting a series of "Get Fit Time Outs" in which kids learn about the benefits of healthy eating and exercise.

Get Fit Time Out - 3/27/12
The Warriors teamed up with Kaiser Permanente to host a Get Fit Time Out at Oaklandís Bella Vista Elementary School on March 27. The students were treated to a nutrition and health themed performance by Kaiser Permanenteís Educational Theatre Program and answered questions for Warriors prizes.

Get Fit Time Out - 3/7/12
Prior to the Warriors-Grizzlies matchup on March 7, the Warriors hosted a Get Fit Time Out presented by Kaiser Permanente at Oracle Arena. The kids in attendance learned about exercising, healthy foods and proper nutrition from professionals and were able to attend a courtside shootaround. In addition, all of the kids received a Warriors and Kaiser Permanente goodie bag.

Hoops & Health Clinic - 2/1/12
The Golden State Warriors and Kaiser Permanente joined forces to host a Hoops & Health clinic for 45 local children at the teamís practice facility in Oakland. Warriors players Klay Thompson and Earl Barron led the kids through a number of different drills and games and Pediatrician Dr. Jennifer Miller discussed ways to be healthy through exercise, eating right and drinking plenty of water.
