J-RICH DEFENDS DUNK TITLE -- JOINS JORDAN AS REPEAT WINNERS:
Jason Richardson scored a perfect 50 on three of his four dunks, including the
final dunk of the contest to defeat 2001 Champ Desmond Mason and win the Sprite
Rising Stars Slam Dunk contest at All-Star Saturday in Atlanta on February 8,
2003...With the victory, he defended his 2002 title to join Michael Jordan (1997
& 1998) as the only players to win back-to-back slam dunk contests...Dominique
Wilkins (‘85 & ‘90) and Harold Miner (‘93 & ‘’95) are the only other players
with two titles...Jordan and Wilkins were joined by Spud Webb, Julius Erving and
Dee Brown as judges for this year’s contest.
JASON’S LONG RANGE RECORDS: Spanning a three-game period
from 12/7 to 12/13, Jason Richardson connected on eight straight three-point
attempts, tying the franchise records for most consecutive treys made without a
miss -- matching Jon Barry (12/30/95 - 1/24/96)...En route to his record (which
started with his last three-pointer vs. Dallas on 12/7 and ended after making
his first and missing his second attempt at Orlando on 12/13), J-Rich connected
on 6-of-6 three-pointers vs. L.A. Lakers on 12/10...The 6-for-6 effort from long
range marked the most made three-pointers without a miss in one game in
franchise history, surpassing the previous record of 5-for-5 shared by Mitch
Richmond (1/21/89 at Sacramento) and Damon Jones (11/29/99 at Utah)...He has
made six three-pointers in a game twice this season.

Highlights...Led or tied the team in points 13 times, rebounds
three times, assists eight times, steals 22 times, blocks three
times and minutes seven times...20-or-more points 26
times...30-or-more points four times...Three double-doubles
(point/rebound)...Made eight consecutive three-point attempts over
three-game span from 12/17 - 12/13, tying franchise record held by
Jon Barry (12/30/95 - 1/24/96)...26 points (10-17 FG, 6-6 3FG) vs.
L.A. Lakers (12/10), marking the most three-pointers made in a game
without a miss in franchise history (surpassing previous mark of
five)...28 points and career-high 13 rebounds at Houston (11/9)...31
points in career-high 48 minutes at New Orleans (11/8)...39 points
(12-27 FG, 6-9 3FG, 9-11 FT) at Dallas, including career-high six
three-point field goals -- one shy of the franchise record held by
