Anthony Randolph On Staying Prepared
Coming off an impressive home victory over Minnesota, the Warriors will open up a season-long five-game road trip on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m., and fans will be able to catch the action live on CSN Bay Area or KNBR 1050.

The Warriors will enter their first of three five-game trips with a full head of steam after Monday’s 146-105 win against the Timberwolves. Eight Warriors scored in double figures in that contest, led by Kelenna Azubuike’s 31 points. As pointed out by the large margin of victory, the Warriors were clicking on all cylinders on Monday. The team shot 57.1 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from three-point range. In addition, the Warriors had 42 fast break points and assists on 36 of their 52 made baskets.

For Golden State to have success on this upcoming road trip, the team will need to play like it did on Monday. The Warriors are at their best when they get out in the open court and run the fast break, so look for them to push the tempo early on Wednesday. In addition, the Warriors should continue to show patience on offense and not be afraid to make the extra pass. Stephen Jackson did just that on Monday and finished with a career-high 15 assists. With the Warriors possessing so many threats from the perimeter, finding an open man with an extra pass is much more likely to result in a made basket than putting up a contested shot.

By the time Wednesday’s action tips off, Indiana will have had four full days of rest since beating Washington last Friday. Led by Danny Granger and his 22.8 points per game, the Pacers are even more of a dangerous team after Tyler Hansbrough’s impressive NBA debut last Friday. Hansbrough joins a Pacers front line that features the ever-improving Roy Hibbert, who has rolled out three consecutive double-doubles heading into Wednesday’s action.

Hibbert won’t have to deal with Andris Biedrins, who will not make the road trip due to a sore lower back and muscle inflammation in his groin and abdomen. Ronny Turiaf, meanwhile, remains day-to-day with a sprained left knee. Despite the Warriors being banged up, they have shown that they can be a force to be reckoned with. Now their next challenge is to show that they can get it done on the road.

Following Wednesday’s action, the Warriors will continue their road trip with a back-to-back in New York and Milwaukee on Friday and Saturday, respectively, followed by another back-to-back set with Cleveland (Nov. 17) and Boston (Nov. 18). The Warriors will next play at home when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, November 20, a contest that includes a Friends & Family offer, giving fans the chance to save up to $79 on a package that includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four bags of chips and four soft drinks.
