With the first two games of the season complete, the Warriors will enjoy a rare four-day break before hosting the Memphis Grizzlies at Oracle Arena on Wednesday, November 4. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m., and fans will be able to catch the action live on CSN (HD) or KNBR 680.
The Warriors will enter the game looking for their first victory. After a narrow 108-107 loss to Houston on Opening Night, the Warriors traveled to Phoenix for their road opener. Golden State fell behind early and was never able to recover, falling in a 123-101 contest.
Despite the two early losses, there have still been plenty of positives for the Warriors. Monta Ellis has averaged a team-leading 22.5 points per game, while his backcourt mate, Stephen Curry, has looked impressive in his first two games in the NBA. The rookie from Davidson is leading the team in minutes played (37.5), assists (5.5) and steals (2.5), while also scoring 13.0 points per game. Curry has shot 12-21 from the field and is quickly earning the confidence of his teammates and coaches.
Golden State will need Ellis and Curry to continue to impress when the team hosts Memphis. The Grizzlies bolstered their young roster by acquiring Allen Iverson and Zach Randolph in the offseason. The two veterans will team up with young, up-and-coming players such as O.J. Mayo, Rudy Gay and Marc Gasol to form an intriguing team, and one that cannot be overlooked.
Following Wednesday's contest, the Warriors will have one day off before hosting the L.A. Clippers on Friday, November 6. The game includes a Friends and Family Offer , giving fans savings of up to $79 on four game tickets, four hot dogs, four soft drinks and four bags of chips. After a quick road trip to Sacramento, the Warriors will return home to host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, November 9, a game that will also include a $10 Ticket Time Out offer.
