Mark Jackson

On Stephen Curry's injury:
“We know how important he is to this basketball team, and these guys really care about him and are pulling for him. He’s worked his tail off, he’s done everything we’ve asked him to do, so it’s just a lot of love.”

On Curry’s status for the rest of the pre-season:
“I’m sure if it was game 7 he’d be available. To me, it’s not that important. So he’s fine… he could have went back into the game tonight. I’ll just play it by ear and make a decision. It’s not that serious.”

On the match-up between David Lee and LaMarcus Aldridge:
“You like to see two of the best… I would probably say ‘spar’ since it’s the pre-season. It was great to watch because you get to see the separation between the elite and everybody else. It was fun.”

On Carl Landry’s game:
“He’s a big-time scorer, a big-time post presence with that second unit. He’s going to get a lot of touches. I love the fact that he doesn’t settle. He’s a guy that, our ownership and our front office, we targeted him and we’re happy to have him.”

On Landry playing center:
“I like it. I don’t know if we can get away with it playing Dwight Howard, but certainly most nights we can use that lineup. At the end of the day, it’s a bigger, stronger lineup than I had to use last year. He’s a big-time post presence, whether a four or five is guarding him.”

On the outcome of the game:
“I thought we executed offensively. One of the tough things was we turned the ball over, and we were not able to, over the long-haul, defend without fouling. They got to the line 35 times—we can’t do that. It’s a good win for us.”

David Lee

On the game:
“They didn’t play some of their guys in the fourth. I thought two teams played hard. It was a typical pre-season game, a little too much fouling by our team. But overall, I’m much happier with our defense. Hopefully Steph will be OK. That was the big headline coming out of this game, but I’m happy with how our guys competed against a tough Portland team that plays well at home.”

On his match-up with Aldridge:
“We’re two guys that are now veteran guys and leaders of our team, and have a lot of respect for one another. We love playing against each other, and have had some battles in the past.”

On Stephen Curry getting injured:
“There were some times last year when he just rolled it on his own, whereas this time someone clearly rolled up onto his ankle. It could have happened to any of us. I think he wanted to show that he could come back into the game and show that he was OK, but coach was smartly saying it was pre-season and told him to go in the back. Steph’s a tough kid and I have no worries about his ankle. He’s looked great and he’s had great confidence with it the entire pre-season.”
