Warrior Girls: March 2013
April 1, 2013
The Warrior Girls had their own version of March Madness as the Warriors had 11 home games that month.
But more home games just means more time with the best fans in the NBA!
During March the Warriors went 7-4 at home, giving the Warrior Girls plenty to smile about.
With lots of home games the Warrior Girls were able to test out new routines.
On March 11 the Warrior Girls sported Bollywood inspired attire to celebrate Bollywood Night at Oracle Arena.
They also performed Bollywood inspired routines.
During the Rockets and Bulls games, the Warrior Girls wore the Warriors alternative short-sleeved uniforms.
The dancers received a surprise visit from comedian Dave Chappelle prior to the Warriors – Kings game.
It was a busy month of practicing, performing, and hanging out with fans, but with playoffs around the corner things will only get crazier.
Despite their busy schedule, the dancers made time to get involved in the Warriors’ community events.
On March 1, Kimberly and Anabelle helped celebrate Dr. Suess’ birthday by attending the Read Across America Reading Time-Out at the San Francisco Public Library. The girls took turns reading famous Dr. Suess books to the children.
The next day, Casey and Anabelle helped host a second Read Across America Reading Time-Out at the San Francisco Zoo.
In addition to reading Dr. Suess’ stories to the crowd, the dancers posed for pictures and signed autographs for their fans.
March 2 was also the same day as the Warrior Girls Dance Clinic. All of the dancers performed their routine during halftime of the Warriors - Rockets game.
The Warrior Girls also helped celebrate the Warriors Season Ticket Holders at the Taste of the Warriors event.
Taste of the Warriors featured samples of the Bay Area’s best food and wine, interviews with Warriors players and coaches, and several giveaways and raffles.
The Warrior Girls spent a lot of time with Warriors fans at the Community Food Drive on March 22.
The event had a ton of fun activities, like an Oreo stacking contest, bounce house, and video games. By the end of the day, the Warriors helped raise $2,000 for the Alameda County Community Food Bank.
The Warrior Girls ended the month by participating in a Read to Achieve Reading Time-Out with the Ossian E. Carr branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland.
Casey and Anabelle, along with Warriors Legend and Community Ambassador Alvin, read a few books to the students. They also asked them questions for a chance to win cool Warriors prizes.
The Warrior Girls also helped with “The Shootout”, an opportunity for Warriors fans to win up to $50,000 by making half-court shots.
With only five home games until the playoffs, the Warrior Girls will be hard at work learning new and electric routines.
