Klay Thompson is currently traveling through China with the NBA Nation tour, making stops in Xi’an and Chengdu.
NBA Nation, the NBA’s largest mobile basketball playground, gives fans a chance to enjoy basketball contests, interact with NBA players, and pose with the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy.
Even though it was 100°F outside, more than 2,000 fans cheered and welcomed Thompson to his first appearance in Xi’an.
Thompson showed off his shooting skills in a three-point shooting contest with a few fans.
He also hosted a shooting clinic for twenty middle school students as part of the NBA Fit program.
Thompson was happy to pose for pictures and sign autographs as well.
After his time at NBA Nation, Thompson attended a Head & Shoulders event where he participated in a fan meet and greet as well as spoke to the media.
The next day Thompson returned to NBA Nation to spend more time with the dedicated fans.
In addition to impressing the crowd with his three-point shooting abilities, Thompson commentated the NBA Nation 3x3 Tournament.
On June 18, Thompson attended the NBA Global Games, which was hosting Klay Thompson Fan Day.
There he hosted a basketball clinic for 40 lucky fans that were selected through a social media campaign called “Shoot Like Klay”.
The clinic ended with a Q&A session, raffle for autographed basketballs, and an interview with local media in Beijing.
The next day, Thompson visited the China Central Television (CCTV) Tower.
He participated in a studio interview and commentated on select moments from Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
It has been an exciting trip so far and Thompson is excited to visit Chengdu and meet more international Warriors fans.
