Waking up to another delicious breakfast was the perfect start to our third day. We are finally getting used to the time difference, which allowed us to be more refreshed for today’s performances. During breakfast a couple of us wanted to be adventurous and try one of China’s traditional meals, congee. It is rice porridge meal that is usually consumed for breakfast, dinner, or just a snack.
We then arrived at the Shanghai Auto Show around 9 a.m. for the first half of our performance. With a little time to spare we were able to walk around and take more pictures with some amazing cars. After another great show we broke for lunch and were so ecstatic to come across a familiar sight, something that we all love and can’t live without…Starbucks!! Those mochas and macchiatos sure hit the spot. Then we stuffed our faces with yet another American novelty, Pizza Hut, which by the way has a completely different menu here in China.
When we went back to the hotel, we had a brand new practice facility waiting for us next to the Wyndam’s finest spa and health center. To our surprise, our very own Golden State Warriors and their “AMAZING” dancers ;) were on TV against the Chicago Bulls! Apparently, our season is still going on here in Shanghai.
After practicing we freshened up and prepared for our second showing. We performed two more routines, took lots of pictures, then headed out for some rest and relaxation. Our driver took us to Taipan Spa & Massage… Best Massage EVER! (And I promise you NO exaggeration!!) We were each treated with a Chinese style full body massage, hot Chinese tea, and yummy appetizers! It was just what we needed after a hard day’s work. To top it all off, it was the best 135 RMB ($20) we’ve ever spent.
To put an end to another great day all the girls met poolside to wind down and enjoy some bonding time. Looking forward to tomorrow’s day of sightseeing!
