Three years ago, a collective roar echoed throughout the Bay Area as the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Jonny Flynn with the sixth pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. After that pick, the Warriors were on the clock and there was no question who they were going to take at No. 7. That smooth shooter who became the darling of the 2008 NCAA Tournament went to the Warriors, and three years later Stephen Curry remains a franchise cornerstone.
Curry will recount some of his Draft Night memories tonight when he joins Warriors broadcaster Tim Roye on a special Draft preview edition of Warriors Roundtable
. The show will air on KNBR 680 immediately following the station’s coverage of Game 5 of the NBA Finals, and it will also include an appearance from Andrew Bogut, who was the first overall selection in the 2005 NBA Draft. Both Curry and Bogut will provide updates on their surgically repaired ankles, as well as offer their thoughts on the Draft and the ensuing season. This will be the first of two draft-themed Roundtable shows, and the other will take place next Thursday on KNBR 1050, immediately after the 60th selection in the 2012 NBA Draft, which will also be broadcast on KNBR 1050.
UPDATE: 6/22/12 (10:25 a.m.) - The show can now be listened to in its entirety in the player below:

. In addition to dozens of prospect interviews
and mock drafts
, we have gained a deeper prospective on potential draftees through their former coaches or media members who covered their NCAA careers. Check out our interview with Oakland Rebels Coach Raymond Young, who coached draft prospect and Bay Area native Damian Lillard
on the AAU circuit, in the audio player below, and access all of our audio interviews on our Draft Multimedia page
In addition, Tim Roye continues to reach out to NBA broadcasters, reporters and other media members for their NBA Draft predictions. Through Roye’s Mock Draft
, we get a feel for each lottery team as it prepares for the Draft and the upcoming season. And for the Warriors, Roye sought the opinion of KNBR radio host and former Warriors forward Tom Tolbert and Warriors bloggers to see who Golden State should take at No. 7
With just one week until one of the NBA’s biggest days of the year, we invite you to catch up on all of our pre-draft interviews. Maybe then you can pose your own mock draft
and predict a gem falling to the Warriors at No. 7. You’d only have to go back three years to find precedent for that occurrence.
