The Warriors hosted a pre-draft workout today at the team’s practice facility in Downtown Oakland. Six prospects took part in the workout, including likely first round selections and potential lottery picks Jordan Hamilton of Texas and Chris Singleton of Florida State. View bios of each of today’s participants by clicking here.
Both Hamilton and Singleton have been predicted to go to the Warriors at No. 11, according to our compilation of mock drafts. Have a look at our interviews with Singleton and Hamilton below, and stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.
While members of the front office staff were certainly taking notes on Singleton and Hamilton, they are also looking at potential players who might be available in the second round. The Warriors will have the 14th pick in the second round (44th overall), and gems can certainly be found that late in the selection process. Among the value picks selected 44th or later in the last five drafts have been Chase Buddinger (No. 44, 2009), Goran Dragic (No. 45, 2008), Marc Gasol (No. 48, 2007), Ramon Sessions (No. 56, 2007) and Paul Millsap (No. 47, 2006). Only time can tell if the Warriors land the next steal of the NBA Draft.
