The Golden State Warriors are dedicated to continuing their longstanding tradition of positive community involvement through the development of the Warriors Foundation and by creating programs and supporting community-based efforts throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Together with the NBA, the Warriors also promote league-wide initiatives supporting child literacy, sportsmanship, child abuse prevention, Black History Month, and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. The following is an overview of the Warriors Foundation and the Warriors' programs and initiatives in the community in support of our mission.
The Golden State Warriors are committed to enhancing the lives of Bay Area youth and their families. Our goal is to strengthen our community by providing programs and activities that promote self-esteem, respect, integrity, teamwork and excellence. Makin' Hoops
The Makin’ Hoops Program allows the Golden State Warriors to assist in the beautification and refurbishment of neighboring Bay Area communities through basketball court refurbishments. Since the program’s inception, 36 courts have been renovated and remain a source of neighborhood pride for their adjacent communities. Each court is resurfaced and receives new backboards, nets, rims, striping and signage. Community Programs |
