GSW Offseason Check-In: Vol. 1
See what the Warriors are up to in the offseason.
There’s never a dull moment for the Golden State Warriors, and this offseason is no exception. While the team is collectively getting ready for bigger and better things in 2014-15, the players are taking advantage of their time away from the court – and in some cases on it. From cheering on Team USA, to playing Jimmy Kimmel in a game of one-on-one, to receiving thousands of autograph requests in a P.O. Box, the guys have kept busy so far this summer.
To help prevent serious Warriors withdrawals amongst #DubNation, we’ll check-in and see what the team is up to this summer, thanks to their tweets, Instagram photos and videos, and Facebook posts. Plus, the Dubs are defending their Summer League Championship title.
Like, 99% of the world’s population, Warriors players had World Cup fever.

In fact, Harrison Barnes spent a few days in Brazil to take in the action live with a couple fellow #TeamAdidas ballers.
Getting to see my first live soccer match today - Ecuador v France!— Harrison Barnes (@hbarnes) June 25, 2014
Once Barnes returned to Oakland, he spoke to GQ Magazine about his adventures in Brazil.
World Cup fever even spread to Dubs HQ.
Ultimately, the Men’s National Team was eliminated in the second round, but many Dubs players were still proud of their team’s run.
USA definitely surpassed expectations. Should be proud— Festus Ezeli (@fezzyfel) July 1, 2014
In addition to hoops and soccer, the guys managed to enjoy a few other sports. Such as...
...Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals...
...NASCAR at the Sonoma Raceway...
...or just a friendly game of golf. Whether they’re playing a few holes at a nearby country club...
...or even traveling to Scotland for the ultimate golfing excursion with their father for his 50th birthday.
But, nothing compares to the hardwood. Stephen Curry lit up Kezar Pavilion when he dropped 43 points in his San Francisco Bay Area Pro-Am debut. Luckily, #DubNation was there in full force to fill Instagram with Curry splashes, dimes, and ankle-breakers.
Curry also lit up the stage when he and Jimmy Kimmel played a very entertaining game of one-on-one on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Even though the Warriors didn’t have a pick in this year’s NBA Draft, we still had some fun with our live draft webcast. And with the draft being on #ThrowbackThursday, you know we had to take a stroll down memory lane.
A few of the guys sent out good luck tweets or commented on the different draft suit styles.
Perhaps the best part of this year’s NBA Draft was when NBA Commissioner Adam Silver honored Baylor center Isaiah Austin by “selecting” him on behalf of the league. A few days before the draft, Austin was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a career-ending genetic disorder. Players around the league were deeply moved by Silver’s gesture.
As the evening continued, congratulations tweets poured in as the guys celebrated their friends’ and past teammates’ achievements.
Congrats @Mr_Hairston15 bro on gettin drafted!! Too many ppl slept on you in this draft. Hornets got a steal— Harrison Barnes (@hbarnes) June 27, 2014
Since a kid I dreamed if being in the green room. I didn't get there in 2012. Lil more work and I was invited for other reasons last night!— Draymond Green (@Money23Green) June 27, 2014
Even Coach Kerr gave a shout out to alma matter.
For any basketball player of any skill level and any age, the offseason is synonomous with improving your game, and nowhere is that more apparent than basketball camps throughout the globe.
Closer to home, Stephen Curry and Under Armour teamed up to host the inaugural Stephen Curry Select Camp for the Top 20 High School Guards in the world.
Before that, Curry and Warriors Basketball Camps hosted the second annual Stephen Curry Overnight Camp in Pebble Beach.
Festus Ezeli, Harrison Barnes, and Ognjen Kuzmic made surprise appearances at sessions of Warriors Basketball Camps across the Bay Area.
Naturally, there were selfies.
