In 2006, sports columnist Rick Reilly joined forces with the UN Foundation to create Nothing But Nets, a global campaign aimed at fighting malaria in Africa. On April 17, 2013 Stephen Curry established a new NBA single-season three-point record with 272 three-pointers made. A few days later, Reilly and Curry announced they were teaming up to help end the disease responsible for the deaths of 600,000 people in Africa every year. Curry donated three bed nets for every three-pointer he made in the 2012-13 season. On July 29, 2013, Curry and Reilly made the 9,555 mile journey to the Nyarugusu Refugee Camp in Tanzania, Africa to hang the 816 nets Curry donated.

Curry updated fans on his experience through his Twitter and Facebook. Below is a recap of Curry's updates, plus the social media buzz surrounding his lifesaving trip.
