There wound up being 20 beautiful and talented women that made the squad, and the process to get there was grueling to say the least. It all started with 150 ladies at preliminary auditions on July 20. Throughout the day the ladies learned the choreography for both a jazz routine and a hip-hop routine. After seeing the dancers perform in a large group and smaller groups of three, the judges selected 46 ladies to continue on to the final round of auditions.
On Sunday, the finalists went through individual interviews to see if they had what it takes to be an ambassador to the Warriors and the community. Monday and Tuesday were dedicated to Warrior Girls Auditions Boot Camp, where the ladies' fitness and health were tested.
Audition Finals were held on Thursday at the Warriors Practice Facility. Fans, friends, and family were able to watch all 46 finalists compete via a live stream on warriors.com. Throughout the event, several friends and family members of the dancers tweeted "Good luck" messages to the girls. Warriors Hype Man Franco Finn hosted auditions and asked the ladies interview questions in-between performances.
The evening began with the ladies performing the jazz routine they learned earlier in the week.
Followed by the hip-hop routine…
Auditions concluded with each dancer having a chance to show off her talent in a solo freestyle.
The judges met and deliberated, eventually deciding on the twenty dancers that would comprise the 2013-14 Warrior Girls. Congratulations, ladies!
