Did you hear that Andrew Bogut was giving away free Warriors tickets in Walnut Creek? Did you run into Klay Thompson a few weeks back while taking your Saturday morning stroll around Lake Merritt? Or perhaps you saw Charles Jenkins, Festus Ezeli and Kent Bazemore randomly interviewing folks in Downtown San Francisco. If so, then you have become an active part of the #GSWCountdown.

“What is this Countdown?” you may or may not be asking. Well, we’re targeting October 31, and while we enjoy costumes and trick-or-treating as much as anybody else, we’re really excited for Opening Night. So excited, in fact, that we will be giving away tickets and awarding daily prizes through our social media channels right up to and through that first regular season game in Phoenix. Check out a few videos of the countdown below …

The #GSWCountdown has reached all corners of the Bay Area, and we’re not even close to being done. Whether it’s Alvin Attles buying kids ice cream at Fentons in Oakland, Brandon Rush playing HORSE with ballers at a San Francisco playground or Carl Landry and Richard Jefferson helping out at the Alameda County Community Food Bank, the Countdown continues to promote community engagement and connection with fans. Heck, even Justin Bieber is on board with the #GSWCountdown.

How’s this for fan connection? Earlier this month, Warriors super fan @Lmmazq won the chance to come to practice and meet Klay Thompson. Not only did he talk shop with one of his favorite players, but he also had a lengthy conversation with Jarrett Jack. And apparently he made such a great impression that Jack grabbed a pair of shoes from the locker room, had several teammates sign them and gave them to @Lmmazq. This wasn’t scheduled, it just happened – a #GSWCountdown miracle if you will.

Where will we go next and what will we be giving away? You’ll just have to follow us on Twitter (@warriors) to find out.
