The Warriors held their first official practice of the 2012-13 season earlier today, and they apparently had so much fun that they are practicing again tonight. Yes, basketball season is back, and nothing is more indicative of that as the team running through two-a-day practices.

After the first practice, Warriors broadcasters Tim Roye and Jim Barnett discussed the team's guards. Watch that video below, and check out the rest of the playlist for interviews with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Mark Jackson and San Francisco Chronicle Warriors beat writer Rusty Simmons.

Some of the major news of the day …

There’s no question that the squad has a lot of work to do. Popular opinion has the Warriors as a greatly improved team from a year ago, but those are empty words until the team actually gets on the court and shows what it is capable of. Practices like those of today are the first steps to living up to such expectations, and the next test will be this Sunday when the Warriors play their first preseason game against the Lakers in Fresno.

There’s so much to look forward to, and we really are just getting started. Stay on top of all of our training camp news at #GSWCountdown, and be sure to watch our next live webcast after Wednesday’s first practice. We’re scheduled to go live at 11:45 a.m., and our guests will be Bogut and Festus Ezeli. If you have a question for either of them, submit it in the comments below or tweet us (@warriors) and use the hashtag #GSWCountdown.
