In just a few days, we’ll be able to look ourselves in the mirror and say “Finally, basketball season has returned.” It has been five months since we last saw the Warriors in regular season action, and we’re pretty sure all of Warriors Nation is ready to get things started once again. We’re excited to see Andrew Bogut’s Golden State debut, we can’t wait to see a fully healthy Stephen Curry take the floor and we’re looking forward to see how well the seven first-year Warriors (including Bogut) mesh with core returners such as Curry, David Lee and Klay Thompson.

Nearly every player has returned to team headquarters to work out with teammates, but the Warriors 2012-13 season formally tips off on Monday with Media Day. More importantly, at least from our perspective, Monday marks the return of Tweedia Day. As you may or may not remember, Tweedia Day is the social media branch of Media Day in which popular social networks are used to connect Warriors fans with the team they passionately support. Whereas Media Day is dedicated to player photo shoots and the recording of promotional pieces for both the team and media outlets, not to mention the first team-wide availability of the new season for local and national reporters, Tweedia Day serves to connect fans with the event.

In fact, the success of Tweedia Day is largely based on you, the fans. As we’ve done in years past, we’ll provide a live webcast during which we’ll interview all of your favorite players. This year’s webcast will begin at 3 p.m. and we’re scheduled to go for more than two hours. And since we’re doing all this for you, we’re letting you ask some of the questions as well. So if you’ve ever wondered what Brandon Rush eats before every game, now would be your time to ask. To submit your question, you can either enter it in the comments below or submit it via Twitter (@warriors) using the hashtag #TweediaDay. Fan involvement always spices things up a bit, and we invite you to get creative with your questions.

Have a question for Andrew Bogut? Submit it in the comments below or on Twitter using the hashtag #TweediaDay and we'll ask him on Monday. (Instagram photo - @OfficialWarriors)

Not only will you be able to participate in our live webcast, but you’ll also have a chance to interact with the team through other social means as well. We don’t want to give away too much right now, but it might be a good idea to get connected with the Warriors on Facebook (Golden State Warriors), Instagram (@OfficialWarriors), Tout (@Warriors) and of course Twitter (@warriors) – remember, the event IS called Tweedia Day.

Monday’s festivities will be just the beginning of our ever-expanding coverage of Training Camp. We’ll feature live video of Warriors practices starting on Tuesday, and we’ll also stream interviews with players and Head Coach Mark Jackson throughout camp.

This promises to be the most interactive Warriors training camp to date. From live webcasts to public appearances and social media contests (more on the latter two soon), fans can be closer to the action than ever before. The countdown to Opening Night is on, and the next 34 days can’t come fast enough.
