Checking In With Andrew Bogut

A common theme of this offseason has been the theory that, if healthy, the 2012-13 Warriors squad has the potential to compete for a playoff spot in the highly competitive Western Conference. We’ve already touched on the progress Stephen Curry has made in recovering from his season-ending ankle injury, but equally important to the Warriors cause is the debut of a fully healthy Andrew Bogut.

After being acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks this past March, Bogut did not dress in any of the Warriors remaining 27 games, as he was recovering from a fractured ankle sustained in January. While it was an unfortunate scenario, the Warriors and Bogut are confident that his debut will be well worth the wait. In preparation, he has spent the summer back home in Melbourne, Australia, rehabbing his ankle with the hopes of being back to full speed by the start of training camp in October.

Following a recent workout session with Warriors Director of Athletic Performance JoHan Wang, Bogut sat down with Warriors Broadcaster Tim Roye for an interview via Skype – a Warriors.com first. Check out the interview to the right and see what the Australian big man had to say about his workout regimen and the progress he’s been making.
