As part of their Back to School Initiative, the Warriors visited five Bay Area schools in five days. The back-to-school began on Monday, September 16 and included school visits from Warriors players and coaches, as well as other events that help raised awareness about the importance of education. Warriors Team Up With Clorox To Clean Up The Classroom
Warriors guard Klay Thompson, Assistant General Manager Kirk Lacob, Warriors Legend & Community Ambassador Al Attles, and Warriors game night emcee Ruby Lupez conducted classroom visits and distributed more than 300 backpacks to students at Grass Valley Elementary School in Oakland. The Warriors representatives offered words of inspiration to help motivate the students to do their best in school and to always strive to reach their goals.

Warriors Host Reading Rally, presented by Ross Dress For Less
The Warriors and Ross Dress For Less hosted a Reading Rally at the World & Achieve Academies in Oakland. Forward David Lee and Assistant Coach Darren Erman spoke to the students about the importance of education and applying themselves academically. For the first time, the Reading Rally was streamed live on for all schools in the Bay Area to view to help build awareness about the importance of literacy.

Warriors Host Get Fit Timeout With Kaiser Permanente
The Warriors and Kaiser Permanente hosted a Get Fit Time-Out event at Greenleaf Elementary School in Oakland for over 200 students grades K-7th. Warriors Forward Harrison Barnes, Assistant Coach Brian Scalabrine, Training Staff Representatives Keke Lyles and Mike Roncarati, and Kaiser Permanente's Health Educator Beatriz Campos spoke to the students about different ways to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle as well as nutritional tips and advice on healthy snacks and foods.

Back to School Night, presented by ScholarShare
The Warriors participated in Back to School Night at Argonne Elementary in San Francisco. CBS 5/The CW 44 Cable 12 weekend sports anchor and sports reporter Vern Glenn emceed the night and introduced Warriors Center Andrew Bogut, who spoke to the teachers, parents and students about the importance of education and remind them that it is never too early to begin planning for college. ScholarShare raffled off two $1,000 college savings accounts to families in attendance.

Inspired Time-Out With Teach For America
The Warriors and Teach For America hosted a chalk talk for students at San Francisco's MLK Middle School emceed by Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's sports anchor Brodie Brazil. In this collaborative event, Warriors guards Kent Bazemore and Warriors legend Alvin Attles shared their stories about overcoming obstacles, their path to the NBA and inspired the students to do their best in school this year.
