Warriors Tip Off 2011-12 Season At Oracle Arena On Wednesday, November 2
Team Plays Host To Los Angeles Lakers In Nationally Televised Contest On Opening Night
The National Basketball Association announced today that the Golden State Warriors are scheduled to open the 2011-12 NBA campaign at Oracle Arena on Wednesday, November 2, at 7:30 p.m., when the club plays host to the Los Angeles Lakers in a nationally televised contest. In addition to releasing their schedule, the Warriors also announced that 2011-12 Starting 5 Mini-Plan Ticket Packages will soon go on sale on the team’s website.
Golden State is slated to make 10 national television appearances this season, with six (6) games scheduled on ESPN and four (4) appearances on TNT, marking the team’s most national TV appearances since the 2007-08 campaign (11 national games). In addition to Opening Night against the Lakers, ESPN will also feature Golden State’s games at the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, December 14; at the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, February 22; home against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, March 14; at the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, April 11; as well as the regular-season finale at home against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, April 18. TNT’s coverage will feature four of the team’s home games at Oracle Arena, including Thursday, January 12 versus the Orlando Magic; Thursday, February 2 versus the Phoenix Suns; Monday, February 20 versus the Los Angeles Clippers; and Thursday, April 12 versus the Dallas Mavericks. Additionally, the Warriors are currently slated to make eight (8) appearances on NBATV.
Tip-off time for all 41 of Golden State’s home games during the 2011-12 season will be 7:30 p.m., as the home schedule features 11 games on Wednesday nights, eight (8) games each on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, and three (3) games on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. The team has no Sunday home games scheduled for the 2011-12 campaign.
The Warriors begin a season-long five-game home stand on the night after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 25) and are slated to make a season-long six game road trip from December 14-23. Golden State is scheduled to play on back-to-back nights 18 times during the season.
