Minnesota Timberwolves’ head coach Flip Saunders and Indiana Pacers’ head coach Rick Carlisle will coach the Western Conference and Eastern Conference All-Stars at the 2004 NBA All-Star Game, to be played on Sunday, February 15 in Los Angeles.

Saunders became the Timberwolves' coach in 1995.

Head coaches for the East and West All-Star teams are based on teams with the best winning percentage in each conference following the Sunday games played two weeks prior to the All-Star Game (Feb. 1). Both Minnesota and Indiana have ensured themselves the best winning percentage by the Feb. 1 deadline.

All-Star starters for both the Eastern and Western Conference will be announced on Thursday, January 29 and the All-Star Reserves will be announced on Tuesday, February 3.
