The Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Houston Rockets on Wednesday at the Target Center. We take a look at one player that used to play for the Wolves in preparation for the game.

Corey Brewer and his contagious smile return to Minneapolis on Wednesday. Brewer appeared in a Wolves uniform from 2007 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2015. He played in 337 games in Minnesota, starting 244 of them. During that span, he averaged 9.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 steals in 27.4 minutes per game.

Coming out of Florida, Brewer got his start in the NBA after being drafted by the Wolves with the seventh overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. In 2011, Brewer was part of a three-team trade that sent him to the New York Knicks. That deal was the blockbuster trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to New York. In 2011, after joining the Dallas Mavericks, Brewer was traded to the Denver Nuggets for draft picks. In 2013, he re-signed with the Wolves before being traded to Houston in 2014. Brewer re-signed with the Rockets in 2015, where he currently plays.

Brewer, a 30-year-old Tennessee native, is in his 10th NBA season and is on his fourth NBA team. Through 40 games, Brewer is averaging 4.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 14.8 minutes per game.

Brewer and the Rockets will square off against the Wolves at 7 p.m. Wednesday night. The game will be aired on Fox Sports North and 830 WCCO.
