Wolves - Warriors: By the Numbers
Game Night Injury Update:
- Head coach Randy Wittman said that Greg Buckner and Antoine Walker remain day-to-day, while Marko Jaric missed shootaround due to illness.
- Theo Ratliff underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday night at 8 p.m., and Wittman said that according to Ratliff, there was a slight meniscus tear that was repaired. More information on the surgery will be available shortly.
The Wolves welcome the Warriors to Target Center for a 7 p.m. tip. Minnesota will look to defeat Golden St. for the fifth-straight time in Minneapolis. We looked at key contributors from each team and how they stack up.
WOLVES PROBABLE STARTERS:
F Corey Brewer:
- Had a season-high three blocked shots Friday vs. Seattle. Also ranks fifth among rookies in rebounds per game (4.7).
F Craig Smith:
- Has started five-of-six December contests, and averaged 28.6 minutes over that stretch ... in addition to 17.6 points over his last five. Is shooting 62.0 percent over the Wolves' last 12, and ranks fifth in field goal accuracy (58.3 percent).
C Al Jefferson:
- Monday at Miami was his second 20-point/20-rebound effort of the year and the 33rd in club history. On Dec. 8 vs. Phoenix, matched his career high, scoring 32 points and grabbing 20 boards ... becoming only the second player in Wolves history with a 30/20 performance. Also ranks fourth in rebounding (11.9), 22nd in scoring (20.2) and 30th in blocks (1.30).
G Marco Jaric:
- Following a seven-game stretch scoring 15.4 per game and boasting a 57.5 percent field goal percentage, is scoring 6.6 on 30.6 percent over his last five.
G Sebastian Telfair:
- Had a career-high four blocks vs. Seattle on Dec. 14. Had a game-high six assists at Miami, the sixth-straight game leading Minnesota in that category and the 14th overall. Is 19th in the NBA in assists (5.5) and 31st in steals (1.27).
WOLVES BENCH:
G Rashad McCants:
- Has come off the bench in nine of the Wolves' last ten. Is hitting 43.6 percent of his three-point attempts this month. Had a game-high four threes vs. Miami on Monday, and totaled 19 points, second behind Jefferson (22).
F Ryan Gomes:
- Monday's game was his second-straight double-digit performance (eight overall). Over his last four, is averaging 9.8 points on 46.9 percent shooting.
WARRIORS PROBABLE STARTERS:
F Matt Barnes:
- Has started nine games, and averages 8.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 25.6 minutes of action. Has scored 10-plus points eight times.
F Stephen Jackson:
- Was named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week for games played November 26 to December 2. Averages 20.8 minutes per game, good for fourth in the league. Since his return to the lineup, the Warriors are 13-5, and over his last 10, has scored 20-plus points seven times.
C Andris Biedrins:
- Leads NBA in field goal percentage (63.7 percent) and is eighth in assists (8.0). At Memphis on Dec. 17, tallied 12 points, seven boards and a steal in only 13 minutes of action. Has 10 double-doubles, good for 15th in the NBA in that category.
G Baron Davis:
- Averaging a team-high 21.9 points (11th in NBA), 8.0 assists (6th in NBA), 5.0 rebounds, 2.48 steals (2nd in NBA) and 38.6 minutes (12th in NBA) in 25 games, all of them starts. Has scored 20-plus points 17 times, 30-plus points three times and has seven 10-plus assist nights.
G Monta Ellis:
- Averaging 16.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.42 steals (20th in NBA). At Memphis on Dec. 17, scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds and had three assists and a steal in 39 minutes of action.
WARRIORS BENCH:
G Kelenna Azubuike:
- Averaging 12.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in his second season. Against Memphis on Dec. 17, had 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
F Al Harrington:
- Contributes 26.9 minutes, 14.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Has scored 20-plus points six times and 30-plus points once.
