Wolves Waive Bonzi Wells

The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has waived training camp invitee Bonzi Wells.

Wells, a 6-5 guard-forward, appeared in both of the Wolves preseason games, averaging 1.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game. The 10-year NBA veteran (1998-2008) has career averages of 12.1 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 2.6 apg. He spent 5-plus seasons with Portland, and also saw action with Memphis, Sacramento, Houston and New Orleans. Wells spent the 2008-09 season playing in China and the 2009-10 season in the Puerto Rican League.

The Timberwolves will open the regular season on Monday, Dec. 26 at 7 p.m. against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Target Center. The game will be telecast on FS North with Tom Hanneman and Jim Petersen calling the action and can be heard on 830 WCCO-AM with Wolves play-by-play announcer Alan Horton on the call.
