Wolves Thursday Update

Before the Wolves take off for a three-game road trip out West against some of the NBA's best, we put together a few notes to keep you on top of things:

Green to Defend Dunk Title
Gerald Green has accepted the NBA's invitation to defend his slam dunk title at this year's All-Star Game in New Orleans. Green said he has some dunks all ready to go, and we'll make sure to catch up with him for as many details as possible before the contest.

Foye Stays Home to Continue Work
Randy Foye won't be on the road trip, but he will be at Target Center continuing to go through drills as he aims to return to the floor sometime in February. Foye experienced the normal stiffness and soreness one might expect in training camp, but says he feels good overall. He's looking to practice with the team sans restrictions sometime next week.

"I'm almost in shape," said Foye. "I'd like to get four or five more practices in, and hopefully you'll see me out on the floor soon."

Foye added that he'd love to be ready for Minnesota's stretch of five consecutive home games starting on Feb. 13, but again, promised nothing. It's really a day-by-day situation.

Doleac Getting Over Illness:
Though he didn't participate fully in practice, Wolves center Michael Doleac returned to Target Center Thursday and is continuing to recover from a cold that kept him out of Tuesday's game against the Warriors. Before that contest, head coach Randy Wittman said that Doleac was "terrific" against San Antonio and Houston this past weekend, playing Yao Ming and Tim Duncan as well as could be expected. He will be on the trip this weekend and should be a game-time decision against Phoenix at 8 p.m. Friday night.
