Wolves Invade M.O.A.
The Timberwolves spent their Saturday at Bloomington's Mall of America, with a slew of events around the Mall's rotunda including appearances by guards Marko Jaric and Greg Buckner.
Starting at 11:00 a.m. on a pretty fall morning, voice of the Wolves Tom Hanneman welcomed fans on behalf of the organization from a 12' by 24' stage. With two huge screens showing Wolves highlights in the background, Wolves staffers manned giveaway booths and watched kids shoot hoops on a SportCourt with netting.
Timberwolves Dancers and Crunch were on hand to interact with fans at various times throughout the day, and the players arrived shortly after 12:00 p.m. to take questions from the fans and sign autographs. Fans obtained pocket schedules and posters, and had the chance to win game tickets and other prizes by playing Plinko.
Fox Sports Net also gave fans the chance to "Be A Wolves Anchor" in a booth set up across from Barnes and Noble. "Saturday's experience at the Mall of America was a great chance for fans to interact with our organization, and we were happy to see such a good turnout," said Wolves President Chris Wright. "We'll continue to be extremely active in the community in this week leading up to our home opener on Friday and throughout the season."
Up next on the team's "See What They Can Do" Tour is a downtown lunch rush event with Wolves Dancers and Crunch on Monday, a reading and learning center dedication at Scheffer Recreation Center in St. Paul on Tuesday and school visits by Crunch and the Wolves dancers on Wednesday. On Thursday, Rashad McCants and Corey Brewer will host a reading time out, before 93X broadcasts live from Target Center skyway on Friday morning.
