Wolves Coach Randy Wittman
On the fourth quarter:
“(Sacramento) made the plays at the end that we couldn’t. It was a backbreaker. They were getting offensive rebounds for extra possessions. The ball simply bounced their way tonight. It seems like it has happened a lot to us lately; through all of these games it has been about the little things that are not getting done. The fouling, putting them on the line so many times – that’s hard to overcome.”

On the positive things he sees:
“We fight. We play hard and we share the ball. I see positives despite everything. We didn’t shoot very well, but we keep battling. We just have to find a way to score points to win the game.”

Wolves Guard Rashad McCants
On what he was encouraged by despite the loss:
“We stayed in the game – that’s about the only thing we did good tonight. We have a problem with finishing. Competing isn’t our problem. We work hard. We just have to make the plays when it counts most. We need to be more aggressive with the ball and get to the line more often. We have a lot to learn; the most important is finding a way to win at the end of games.”

Kings Coach Reggie Theus
“In my opinion that was a must-win for us. It was very important that we win that basketball game. In order to stay in the hunt for a playoff position we have to find a way to win games at home. We have to come up with something on the road but we definitely have to win the games we can win at home. We felt like we let one slip away yesterday so it was very important for us to come up with this.

First of all, if a team is down you want to try to keep them down; you don’t want to be the team that gives them their first win, especially on the road. Both teams were tired. Both teams played real hard games last night. Again, we have to win our homes games – games that we’re supposed to win – and I thought this was a must-win for us."

On the play of Brad Miller:
“Defensively I thought the bigs were getting worked over pretty good by (Al) Jefferson, but I gave them a lot of compliments down the stretch of the game. When the game was on the line, our bigs came up with four offensive rebounds – that right there is making plays when the game is on the line and that’s what you have to have."

On Beno Udrih controlling the tempo down the stretch:
“Well that’s kind of what we expect him to do. We know that that’s what he’s capable of doing. As we’ve said before, not only can he shoot the basketball but he penetrates and he’s a pure point guard so he understands how to get down into the depths of the defense and he did that in super fashion for us.”

Kings Guard Kevin Martin
On back-to-back games being more of a mental thing that you have to get through than a physical thing:
“I think it’s a little of both. Your body is tired but you have to think that you didn’t play last night and get out there and play your hardest.”

Kings Center Spencer Hawes
On his first NBA game:
“It felt like my first game when I first got out there, but you try to get it out of your system as quick as you can and go about your job.”

On the fans warm welcome for him:
“I definitely appreciated that coming in, but it’s just like any other game -- you have to just try and block all that stuff out and play.”

On his matchup with Al Jefferson:
“He’s unbelievable with his footwork down there. So it was a tough matchup but most teams have a guy like that. You just have to try and adjust as the game goes on."

Kings Guard Beno Udrih
On his big shot late in the game after a Timberwolves three:
“I like to play pick-and-rolls and that’s my shot. I got out a pick-and-roll wide open. Brad (Miller) set a great screen. We needed that.”

On being in such a tight game:
“It was great. I like tight games. I like to play those kinds of games because there is more emotion in those type of games.”

Kings Center Brad Miller
On if the team has grown since the last road trip:
“We obviously got some wins under our belts. That road trip was a tough start for our team and us being short handed. Those were close games that we won but sometimes it’s better to be in those close games. You can learn more as a team about what you have to do to pull it out in the end. We had a chance last night at the end of the game too. All three of them were close. We have Beno (Udrih) now and Spencer (Hawes) is going to start playing and they are going to help us out a little more.”
