Wolves And Lynx Hire Brad Ruiter As VP Of Communications

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx today announced the hire of Brad Ruiter as its Vice President of Communications. In this new position Ruiter is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the Wolves and Lynx public relations, broadcast and community relations departments.

“We are excited to welcome Brad into this new role,” said Timberwolves and Lynx Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Ted Johnson. “With his diverse background, Brad brings a wealth of skills and experience to the organization. We look forward to his leadership in helping us maximize the momentum and opportunities around the Lynx and Wolves teams.”

Ruiter is one of several new staff members coming to the Wolves and Lynx this off-season. In coming weeks the organization will announce additional hires to its growing business operations staff.

Ruiter comes to the Wolves and Lynx with more than 20 years of experience in the public relations and sports industries. He began his career as the Associate Director of Media Relations for the University of Minnesota Athletics Department, a position he held for nearly eight years. Ruiter then went on to serve as the Director of Communications for the Minnesota Twins where he managed the team’s media relations efforts and communications strategies.

Ruiter’s previous roles also include serving as the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Minnesota Bankers Association and a Group Manager for Weber Shandwick.

Most recently, Ruiter worked as an independent media consultant, completing public relations and communications initiatives for a variety of local and regional companies.
