Minnesota Timberwolves Unveil True Blue Campaign

November 1, 2005
The Minnesota Timberwolves will kickoff their TRUE BLUE marketing and advertising campaign tomorrow morning (Wednesday, Nov. 2) at the Nicollet Mall light rail train station in Minneapolis (corner of 5th Street and Nicollet).

Timberwolves Dance Team members, Timberwolves Street Team members, team mascot Crunch and staff members will greet all light rail commuters with doughnuts and smiles at the Nicollet stop from 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Additionally, random Timberwolves prizes will be distributed to commuters. Also, the Timberwolves TRUE BLUE wrapped train will be passing through this stop all morning.

The Wolves' TRUE BLUE campaign highlights the opening of the team's 2005-06 season that starts tomorrow night against the Portland Trail Blazers at Target Center (7 p.m.). In TRUE BLUE fashion, Timberwolves fans wearing blue will receive a $5 discount on tickets to the Home Opener if purchased at the Target Center Box Office. Tickets are still available for the Home Opener at the Target Center Box Office, online at www.timberwolves.com or by call 1-800-4NBA-TIX.

The franchise unveiled its TRUE BLUE campaign recently by running Timberwolves commercials featuring Kevin Garnett’s off-season workout regime. The commercials, featuring the team's 10-game season ticket packages, can now be seen on www.timberwolves.com.

Along with the television spots, the TRUE BLUE campaign includes a Timberwolves wrapped light rail train, a Timberwolves wrapped Hummer limo and a Timberwolves street marketing team. The TRUE BLUE theme can be seen in various ads throughout the Twin Cities including newspapers, buses, bus shelters and restaurants and bars.
