The Minnesota Timberwolves today began the team's first annual Wolves Radio Caravan. Over the course of five days, between Oct. 16 and Oct. 21, the Wolves Radio Caravan will travel to 10 cities across Minnesota, doing in-studio interviews and community appearances in select locations.
Timberwolves radio broadcasters Alan Horton and Kevin Lynch, along with members of the Timberwolves radio broadcast production staff, will travel to each city on the tour to meet with affiliates of the Timberwolves Radio Network and promote the upcoming 20th Season of Timberwolves basketball.
Selected cities on the 2008 Wolves Radio Caravan include Duluth and Grand Rapids on Oct. 16, Brainerd, Long Prairie and St. Cloud on Oct. 17, Willmar on Oct. 20, and Red Wing, Owatonna and Faribault on Oct. 21.
On Tuesday, Oct. 21, the final day of the Caravan, in addition to doing live in-studio radio interviews, the Wolves will put on basketball clinics for local kids in Red Wing and Faribault. Wolves color analyst and former Minnesota Gopher star basketball player Kevin Lynch will help teach students basketball fundamentals at Burnside Elementary School in Red Wing and at Divine Mercy Catholic School in Faribault.
The next Timberwolves radio broadcast of the 2008-09 season will air on KFAN-AM 1130 on Wednesday, Oct. 22 when the Wolves take on the Chicago Bulls for a preseason matchup at Target Center. Wolves radio broadcasts can be heard on KFAN-AM 1130 and the Timberwolves radio network for three preseason games, all 82 regular-season games and all playoff contests. The Timberwolves have one of the largest radio networks in the NBA, made up of 22 stations in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
