Timberwolves Begin Search For Kids Reporters

The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking for Kid Reporters for the 2013-14 season!

Is your kid a Timberwolves basketball fan? Do they like to be on-camera? Can they conduct short interviews with fans, coaches, or players? Do they like to have fun?

If you answered "Yes!" to these questions then your kid might be one of our new Kid Reporters.

These Kid Reporters will take part in select games, shootarounds and practices and will have the opportunity to do short interviews with players coaches and other personalities surrounding the team. Kid Reporters and their families will receive Timberwolves tickets to watch select games throughout the season.*

The Wolves are looking for kids 12 years old and under to be their Kid Reporters. Applicants are asked to create an audition video with an introduction and a mock interview, have an adult 18 years or older upload the video onto YouTube (Length: 3 minutes or shorter). Then submit the link via e-mail to Timberwolves Broadcast Production Manager Erik Nelson (nelson@timberwolves.com). Top audition videos will be featured on Timberwolves.com where fans will vote on their favorites. A group of candidates will be selected for in-person interviews at Target Center following the online vote, and two kid reporters will be selected for the 2013-14 season.

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOVLES KID REPORTER CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS


1. PARTICIPATION CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND DECISIONS, CONSENT TO USE AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS. By entering this Contest, each participant warrants that they have read and agree to abide by all contest rules and that they are not prohibited from participating in the contest. Participation in this contest constitutes participant’s full and unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Minnesota Timberwolves (“Timberwolves”), its parents, affiliates, employees and agents, which are final, binding and non-negotiable in all respect. Each participant agrees to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Timberwolves and its parents, affiliates, shareholders, employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers from any liability arising from or related to the contest, including without limitation, (a) unauthorized human intervention in the contest; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) personal injury, death, and property damage; and (f) claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Further, participants fully and unconditionally release all claims for consideration, copyright infringement and all other claims of any nature relating to the use of their entry, name or likeness.

2. The Minnesota Timberwolves Kid Reporter Contest (“Contest”) is open to legal residents of Minnesota and the United States who are 12 years of age or younger as of the Contest end date. Minnesota Timberwolves employees, Lynx employees, NBA employees, and their agents, affiliates and immediate family members are not eligible to participate. Proof of age, parental consent, identity and location must be furnished upon request. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. The Timberwolves reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, suspend, or amend this Contest at any time for any reason. The Timberwolves further reserve the right to amend these contest rules at any time without prior notice, at its sole discretion. Timberwolves reserve the right to disqualify any participant for any reason, including, but not limited to, violation of these Official Rules, data manipulation, copyright infringement or infringement of the rights of a third-party.

1. HOW TO ENTER

The Contest runs from on or about Wednesday September 11, 2013 through Monday, September 30th, 2013 (“Entry Period”). To enter, during the Entry Period, eligible participants are asked to: (i) create, with their parent’s permission and assistance, an audition video no longer than three (3) minutes showing an introduction as well as a mock interview; (ii) upload the video onto YouTube or another video sharing website; and (iii) submit the link to the video along with a scanned copy of the Parental Consent Form via email to Timberwolves Broadcast Production Manager Erik Nelson at nelson@timberwolves.com (“Eligible Entries”). All videos and submission materials must be emailed by the end of the Entry Period. Videos submitted will become the property of the Timberwolves and the top videos may be featured on the Timberwolves website. Limit one entry per person, by submitting an entry you agree to abide by these Official Rules. Entries submitted via mail, fax and phone will not be accepted. Entries submitted under false pretenses or entries violating these Official Rules will be disqualified.

Participant’s submission signifies agreement by participant to grant the Timberwolves a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, transferable, perpetual license to publicly display participant’s entry. Participant further certifies that the entry submitted does not contain any trademarks, logos, copyrighted material, or other intellectual property belonging to any third party. The Timberwolves reserve the right to remove from the contest website and disqualify any entry which the Timberwolves, in its sole discretion, determines to be offensive, illegal, in violation of any privacy or other third party rights, or for any other reason. Participant warrants and represents that he/she is the original author of the material submitted and that the video does not incorporate material owned by any other person. By entering, participant also agrees that the Timberwolves may publish participant’s name and entry on their website or in such other media or formats as they may elect without any compensation.

2. HOW TO WIN

At the end of the Entry Period, all Eligible Entries will be judged by an internal panel of representatives of the Minnesota Timberwolves and, in their sole discretion, two (2) winners will be selected (“Contest Winners”). The criteria used in the judging process will include, but is not limited to, the entries creativity, fan votes received on the Timberwolves website, the content and overall impression of the entry, as well as a possible in person interview. The Contest Winner(s) will be notified on or about the week of October 7, 2013 by telephone or email at the information on file. The decisions of the judges will be final, binding and not negotiable. If unable to make contact with the Contest Winner(s) within ten (10) days after the Timberwolves’ first attempts to notify the Contest Winner(s), or if the Contest Winner(s) fail to claim the prize in accordance with these Official Rules, the Contest Winner(s) forfeit the prize. To accept and receive the prize, each Contest Winner(s) must sign and return to the Timberwolves a copy of these Official Rules, an executed parental consent form, a form provided by the Timberwolves releasing the Timberwolves from all claims, a completed W-9 form, and any other documentation deemed necessary in the Timberwolves’ sole discretion no later than the deadline specified by the Timberwolves.

The odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received. For example, if the Timberwolves receive 1,000 Eligible Entries, your chances of winning will be 1 in 1,000.

3. PRIZE

Each of the two Contest winner(s) selected by the Timberwolves will receive the opportunity to interview selected players, coaches, and other Timberwolves’ personalities during games, shootarounds, and practices selected in the sole discretion of the Timberwolves. For any home game that a respective Contest Winner is chosen to attend, they will also receive four (4) additional tickets for family and friends. All details of the tickets, games, Contest Winner(s) attendance, etc. will be solely decided and coordinated by the Timberwolves. The Minnesota Timberwolves reserve all rights to photos, videos and other collateral produced from the Contest. The winner is responsible for taxes any and all other costs and expenses not listed above. All decisions of the Timberwolves in this contest are final, binding and non-negotiable. No prize may be transferred or substituted.

By entering this contest participants consent to the Timberwolves’s use of their name, likeness, image and biographical data for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. BECAUSE PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM PARTICIPANTS WILL BE COLLECTED BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST, PARTICIPANTS SHOULD REVIEW the Timberwolves’ Privacy Policy, which can be found at http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/community/. By entering this contest, participant authorizes the Timberwolves to contact participant for commercial purposes via mail, telephone, or e-mail address listed on the participant’s entry form. There will be no use of participants name or other personal information for future commercial purposes except as in accordance with the Timberwolves’ privacy policy. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without giving effect to conflicts of law rules.
