Timberwolves 25 Season Ticket Member Spotlight: Marshall Dahl

Editor’s Note: Throughout the 2013-14 season, the Timberwolves will highlight and recognize members of our fan base who have been with the team since the beginning. As part of our Timberwolves 25 Season Ticket Member spotlight, the Wolves Radio Network and Timberwolves.com will feature Q&As with fans who have held season tickets since Day 1 back in 1989. You can hear these interviews on 830 WCCO-AM and the Timberwolves Radio Network during the Northland Ford Dealer Tip-off Show on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

What made you first sign up for season tickets?

“Well, as a young guy I used to go to the Lakers games when the Lakers were here at the Armory or Convention Center and I was just really excited when we had the opportunity to get a professional team back here so I was really excited to, you know, get tickets for the start.”

When you see Kevin Love play are their flashes of George Mikan?

“I don’t know about Geoge Mikan, but I remember, oh boy, I have a hard time with names sometimes but, yeah, I could, yeah. He was really something.”

His +26 was second on the team, trailing only Rubio’s +/- mark of +29.

What are some of your favorite memories?

“I think the Kevin Garnett, he was really, there were certainly stars before that but I think acquiring Kevin Garnett was really a big event and it really got everybody excited and interested and you know really got our hopes up. That was a good acquisition. It was really memorable.”

Do you see signs of postseason for this current club?

“Well, they’re sure looking good. Wednesday’s night (vs. Orlando) was good. This game (vs. OKC) is looking good so far. If Kevin and Rubio and Pekovic can stay healthy, I think we, it’s really exciting, I think we have a very good chance.”

What are some of the benefits and perks of being a season ticket member of this club?

“Well, occasionally I have gotten upgraded seats. I’ve come to luncheons. I’ve had, you know, the coaching staff and the rest of the staff of the Timberwolves have met with groups of us at times to get our comments. It’s all good. I think it really makes you feel part of the team and part of the experience.”

If someone was on the fence about getting seats, what would you tell them?

“I would say it’s definitely, it’s quite the entertainment. I mean it’s exciting every game. I mean, certainly there’s ups and downs, there’s times when it’s going good and times when it’s not, but I tell you when you’re having those up times, it’s really exciting. And it’s just a very good night out on the town.”
