Timberwolves 25 Season Ticket Member Spotlight: Joe Pietrafitta

Editor’s Note: Throughout the 2013-14 season, the Timberwolves will highlight and recognize members of our fan base who have been with the team since the beginning. As part of our Timberwolves 25 Season Ticket Member spotlight, the Wolves Radio Network and Timberwolves.com will feature Q&As with fans who have held season tickets since Day 1 back in 1989. You can hear these interviews on 830 WCCO-AM and the Timberwolves Radio Network during the Northland Ford Dealer Tip-off Show on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

What made you first sign up for season tickets?

“Actually I was living in Boston at the time and I bought the tickets when I was still in Boston and planning to move here the following year and knew that the franchise was coming here. I was an avid Celtics fan and wanted to go to basketball games.”

Coming from Boston, you must not have known much about the team?

“Yeah, I didn’t know too much about the team, but just the fact that I could get season tickets and I was going to move here was appealing to me.”

What was the difference going from the Metrodome to the Target Center?

“Well, the seats are better. When I was at the Metrodome I was at the roofline in the corner so I couldn’t have been farther away from a basketball court.”

How many games do you think you’ve been to over the years?

“I haven’t been to a thousand games, but I’ve been to pretty close to that and I’ve been to almost so many games I feel like I could coach the team.”

What makes this season’s team special?

“I think they have probably the most talented team they’ve had in many years. I think they kept most of their talented players and I think they picked up some great players in the offseason. I think they could go deep into the playoffs.”
