Timberwolves vs. Nuggets | 7:00 PM — Target Center

Where to Watch: Fox Sports North

Where to Listen: 830 WCCO-AM

Denver Nuggets head coach Brian Shaw knows that the Minnesota Timberwolves are a beat up squad right now.

He also knows that the Wolves have All-Star starter Kevin Love starting tonight, a player who has averaged 31.5 points and 15.8 rebounds over his last six games.

“Obviously Kevin Love is the focus, we know what he can do as far as scoring, rebounding, passing the ball and just his all-around game,” Shaw said at Wednesday morning’s shootaround at the Target Center.

In his two games against Denver this season, Love is averaging 23.5 points, 12.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.

The Wolves will need Love to step up (as he’s done all season) again tonight as they’ll likely be without Kevin Martin (thumb) and Nikola Pekovic (ankle). Minnesota fans aren’t new to injuries as they endured their fair share last season.

The Nuggets have been bit by the injury bug as well. Going into shootaround, the Nuggets were already without Ty Lawson (ribs), Andre Miller (personal), Nate Robinson (knee), Danilo Gallinari (knee) and JaVale McGee (leg).

During shootaround, Randy Foye left with an ankle injury and received treatment for the majority of it.

“Well he started out shootaround and went in for the majority of shootaround to work on his ankle, so it’s up in the air,” Shaw said. “That’s all I can give you at this point. I think he’ll be able to go…”

Losing Foye, the team’s acting point guard right now, would be a huge blow. The former Villanova star is averaging 11.8 points per game (highest since 2008-09), three assists, 2.7 rebounds and is shooting 40.6 percent from the field. If Foye is unable to go, expect Evan Fournier to start. He’s started just two games this season.
