Ricky Rubio had many great games for the Timberwolves in the 2013-14 season, showing solid play-making ability with his passing and assists, lighting up the scoreboard in some contests, even having two triple-doubles during the season. Rubio is continuing to develop his game in the NBA, and this was by far his most successful—and durable—season with the Wolves. After looking at these Top 5 performances from 2013-14, it’s exciting to think about how far he can go in the future.

Let’s start the list at number five.

5) Jan. 21, 2014: Wolves 112, Jazz 97

The Wolves were close to wrapping up the first month of 2014 with this game against the Jazz. Ricky didn’t lead the team in points in this Wolves win at Utah, but he had a double-double with 11 points (4-of-7 FGs) and 13 total assists. Those assists helped Corey Brewer and Kevin Love each get to 19 points on the night, and Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Martin to 18 a piece. Rubio increased the pace of the game up with long outlet passes, quick plays and 5 steals on the night. He kept the Wolves in the lead when Martin injured his hand going for a steal, and Alexey Shved had to leave the game with a broken nose. He accomplished all this while playing a team-high 39 minutes, and helping the Wolves combat a surging Gordon Hayward of the Jazz who led all scorers with 27 points. Oh, and he produced one of the greatest moments of the season when he played catch with a young girl during a timeout.
