Wolves Announce New Radio Home for the Wolves - BOB 106
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced that the team and BOB 106 (KLCI 106.1 FM) have reached an agreement on a three-year radio partnership beginning with the upcoming 2006-07 NBA season. BOB 106 will become the official flagship radio station of Timberwolves basketball, broadcasting all of the Wolves' 82 regular-season games and playoff contests as well as two preseason games. Additionally, all broadcasts will include both pregame and postgame shows.
"We are extremely excited about our new partnership with BOB 106," said Timberwolves President Chris Wright. "This is an opportunity that will provide the Timberwolves and our fans with a solid broadcast signal, unique content and additional Wolves-specific programming."
BOB 106 will officially kick off its partnership with the Timberwolves by broadcasting live from the Timberwolves’ official NBA Draft Party at NBA City Restaurant inside Target Center on Wednesday, June 28 starting at 6 p.m. The Wolves hold four picks in the 2006 NBA Draft: No. 6, No. 36, No. 37 and No. 57. BOB 106 will become only the second flagship radio station in team history as the Wolves spent the past 17 seasons on KFAN-AM 1130.
"We are really looking forward to our new relationship with one of the premier sports brands in Minnesota," said BOB 106 General Manager Neil Freeman. "Now with the Timberwolves and Lynx, BOB 106 is the home for the best country music and all professional basketball play-by-play in Minnesota."
Along with the Timberwolves, BOB 106 (KLCI 106.1 FM) is also the radio home of the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx. BOB 106 is owned by Milestone Radio, LLC and is broadcast out of Elk River, Minn. The team's radio broadcast team will be announced at a later date.
