Minnesota's 2007-08 campaign has been over for nearly a month ... And we missed us some Ryan Gomes. Accordingly, we dialed up his cell to see how he's doing in Connecticut, and to review his first season in a Wolves' jersey.
Ryan Gomes Conversation
By all accounts, Gomes was a very capable "glue guy" who also showed the ability to defend ... While putting up points and rebounds consistently. On the season, he played an average of 29.7 minutes per game and appeared in all 82 games (starting 74), scoring nearly 13 points and grabbing almost six rebounds a game.
His best game of the season came on Jan. 21 at Golden State, when he scored a career-high 35 points with 11 rebounds in a Minnesota road win to become one of seven players in franchise history to go over 35 and 10.

In a more global sense, his importance is signified by the fact that Minnesota won 11-of-18 games in which Gomes scored 15+ points, and he, in the hearts of many the Wolves' fans, should be Minnesota's number one priority this offseason.
We got Gomes's thoughts on those issues, learned about his offseason regimen, gathered his feelings on some of his teammates (like Al Jefferson and Sebastian Telfair) and talked about his excitement over a baby girl expected in July.

Stay tuned for coming offseason interviews with Craig Smith, Chris Richard and Kirk Snyder.
