Feb. 10, 2004 — Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Kevin McHale today announced the team has signed guard Darrick Martin to a second 10-day contract. The Wolves' active roster stands at 12 players in advance of the team's game versus the Los Angeles Clippers this evening (7:00 CST) at Target Center.

Martin, who signed his initial 10-day contract on Jan. 30, came to Minnesota from the CBA's Sioux Falls Sky Force. In six games with the Wolves thus far, he has averaged 3.3 points and 1.8 assists in 9.5 minutes per contest. The 5-11, 170-pound guard from UCLA, averaged 18.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.70 steals per game in 20 contests split between the Yakima Sun Kings and Sioux Falls earlier this season.

Martin is in his third stint with Minnesota, having originally signed to the first of two consecutive 10-day contracts on Feb. 13, 1995. He was signed for the remainder of the season on March 7, 1995. He was traded by the Grizzlies to Minnesota for a 1996 second round pick on Jan. 12, 1996.
