Love Takes Out Star Tribune Ad To Thank Fans For All-Star Votes

Timberwolves forward Kevin Love took out a full-page ad in the Sunday, Feb. 9 edition of the Star Tribune to thank fans for voting him into the 2014 NBA All-Star Game's Western Conference starting lineup. This will be Love's third All-Star Game appearance, but it will be his first as a starter. The game takes place Sunday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. CT on TNT. Love will also participate in the Foot Locker 3-Point Contest on State Farm All-Star Saturday Night (7:30 p.m. CT on TNT).

Love was approximately 17,000 votes out of the top three spots in the Western Conference front court's starting lineup with less than two weeks of voting to go, but thanks to a late push by the fans he made up enough ground to bump Rockets center Dwight Howard out of that top three. Love will join Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin in the front court. The ad was kind of a cool gesture from Love, who was genuinely surprised and grateful for being voted into that starting lineup.

"I was humbled and honored by your support in getting named as a starter for the 2014 All-Star Game in New Orleans," the ad says. "Timberwolves fans and the people of the Upper Midwest have been awesome since the day I arrived in Minnesota."

Love also mentioned the new Mayo Clinic Square practice facility and the renovations for Target Center in the ad, stating it's an exciting time to be a Wolves fan. Check out the ad below:
