Radio Analyst

Former NBA forward Jim Petersen enters his second year on the radio team and his fifth season with the Wolves. He previously served as a television analyst for Wolves broadcasts. Teamed with Chad Hartman, Petersen brings the expertise of an eight-year NBA career to his analysis.

Petersen played forward and center for the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors, being traded to that team in 1989 for Ralph Sampson. Before the NBA, Petersen, a native of Minneapolis, played four seasons for the Minnesota Gophers. He was a member of the Gopher team that won the Big 10 championship in 1982.

Before joining the Timberwolves, Petersen, a former Minnesota Mr. Basketball, spent time behind the bench as coach of junior high schools in LaJolla, Calif., and Hopkins.
