Garnett Named NBA All-Defensive Second Team
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett has been named to the 2005-06 All-Defensive Second Team, the National Basketball Association announced. Garnett was named to the team by a voting panel that consisted of the NBA's 30 head coaches, who were asked to select NBA All-Defensive First and Second Teams by position. It was the second postseason honor Garnett has earned this spring after receiving the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship award in April.
Garnett, who had been named All-Defensive First Team in each of the last six campaigns (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005), is joined by guard Chauncey Billups of the Detroit Pistons, forwards Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs and Tayshaun Prince of the Pistons and center Marcus Camby of the Denver Nuggets on the Second Team.
The NBA All-Defensive First Team consists of guards Bruce Bowen of San Antonio, Kobe Bryant of the L.A. Lakers and Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets. Detroit center Ben Wallace and forwards Andrei Kirilenko of the Utah Jazz and Ron Artestof the Sacramento Kings round out the First Team.
