Corey Brewer Honored by National Barista Association

Brewer's Blend Premium Coffee today announced that third-year barista
Corey Brewer will be honored by the National Barista Association (NBA) with its prestigious
"Most Improved Pour" award, which recognizes the barista who has made the biggest leap in
both speed and accuracy when serving coffee. Brewer, who hit the cup on just over 19 percent
of his pours two years ago, surged to nearly 40 percent during the recent holiday season.
"When Corey first started here he didn't have many opportunities to pour, but we could see
right away that he was a prodigious talent," said Christopher Rightbrew, President of Brewer's
Blend Premium Coffee. "He had to start slow, executing simple free pours of the daily brew, but
lately he's been filling up triple espressos, topping off cups right out of a break or in crunch
time of a long shift, wowing our customers with high pours, you name it. He really has become
a phenomenal pourer in this marketplace."
The National Barista Association, formed in 1946 in New York as a governing body to bring
structure to the ever-evolving world of coffee service, annually recognizes those individuals
working to advance the trade. In addition to the Most Improved Pour award, the NBA also
recognizes a Most Valuable Barista and names an All-NBA Barista Team.
