Welcome to the new timberwolves.com!
The interactive services department inside the offices of the Minnesota Timberwolves spent countless hours this offseason working on a complete redesign of the team Web site. Significant changes were seen throughout the organization during the summer, including a new president of basketball operations, a new coaching staff, and a revamped roster for the 2009-10 season.
As the new-look team begins its journey back to the playoffs, the new-look Web site will offer comprehensive coverage of the Wolves with a massive amount of multimedia to keep you coming back every day of the week. Set your homepage bookmark, send the tweets, and post the link on your facebook, timberwolves.com is the one-stop-shop for your favorite team in the Twin Cities.
Let's take a quick tour of the new features:
Restructured navigation:
-- The "mega dropdown" menu at the top of the site allows fans to navigate throughout the site with ease.
.Com Guide:
-- Located at the bottom right side of the site. It's as simple as viewing a program guide on your TV at home. The innovative Wolves .Com Guide displays the web content for the entire week.
-- Links will take you to written, audio, and video content that will be updated daily.
-- Gamedays will be highlighted with a white background for home games and a blue background for away games.
-- Need tickets? Simply click on the ticket icon for each home game and purchase seats for the selected game.
-- The .Com Guide also displays broadcast information.
Top Story Module:
-- The "Hero" image spans the entire width of the site. Images will be seen in a widescreen format to provide an improved view of the action.
-- This module rotates between five stories, promotions, and online features.
-- Fans can listen to audio directly from the top story module on the homepage along with finding video links to game highlights and original team features.
-- Visitors are alerted to upcoming stories within an hour of its release via the new .Com Guide.
Schedule Module:
-- The game and event schedule displays the entire month.
-- Fans can navigate month by month.
-- Gameday view shows information surrounding the game that day, including time, where to watch or listen, and special offers.
-- Interested in a specific game while scanning the schedule module? It's simple, links are provided to single tickets for each game.
-- Check out previous game links to view recaps, boxscores, and video highlights.
Social Media:
-- Fans can continue to interact through the popular Fan Chatter section, which displays the latest Timberwolves tweets.
-- Easily jump to Timberwolves Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, Flickr, and Linkedin.
The News Section:
-- On the right side of the site, just below the top story module, toggle between latest news, video, and audio.
Fan Zone
-- Use the slider to visit special sections of the site, including brand new desktop wallpaper.
Coming soon to timberwolves.com:
Players Module - Thursday, October 22
The new design of the players' module will feature a bio, statistics, photos, videos, links to merchandise and official player Web site for each member of the Wolves roster. Fans will have the ability to download desktop wallpaper as well.
Game Entertainment - Friday, October 23
This new home for Crunch is an interactive feature of the site with a new Crunch game. Wolves fans and kids will enjoy the Donkey Kong style game where Crunch makes his way up ladders, jumping over basketballs that the evil mascots throw down at him. Players can challenge three different mascots on three different levels. The game entertainment section is the spot to check out information surrounding the in-arena hosts, The Pack, 1st Ave Breakers, and Senior Dancers.
WolvesNation.com - Monday, October 26
The ultimate social media/networking site for the Wolves makes its debut next week. This site will pull information from all of the popular networks, such as: Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and YouTube. Fans will be able to access the top Wolves blog sites and participate in the forum.
Dancers Site - Tuesday, October 27
One of the most popular sections on timberwolves.com also received a facelift. Fans can view each dancer and find bios, photos, and videos. This section will also showcase an events calendar, desktop wallpapers, and the new Fan Engagement piece. Fans will be able to place their face (using a photo off of their computer) in the generic guy or girl's head. Fans will then be able to "share" these photos with friends via provided links.
