Season Report
Unfortunately for Jason Collins, inconsistent minutes throughout the season led to a lack of production. The Wolves were forced to adjust their lineup after Al Jefferson was lost for the year, therefore, allowing more court time for Collins during the second half of the season. When Randy Wittman or Kevin McHale decided to counter an opposing team with a big man in the paint, Collins played a major role as the only 7-footer on the roster. The most memorable play of the year for Collins was a highly publicized foul on LeBron James in a 107-85 defeat to the Cavaliers on March 27. The referee crew whistled Collins for a flagrant foul and James said, "It was borderline dirty." Collins was also a critical component on the practice floor and provided a physical presence for rookie Kevin Love to battle during the season. The 7-year veteran made an impact off the court with several appearances for the Wolves Fastbreak Foundation. Collins will now enter free agency this offseason after one year in Minnesota.
