Kris Dunn Dominates Rookie Survey

Timberwolves rookie guard Kris Dunn turned heads in just two games during Las Vegas Summer League. What he did during that time, along with what his fellow rookies already knew about him, led to high praise in the 2016 Rookie Survey.

Who will be the 2016-17 Kia Rookie of the Year?

Despite being the fifth overall pick, Dunn received a league-high 29 percent of the vote. In second was Brandon Ingram of the Lakers (25.8 percent) and third was Ben Simmons of the 76ers (19.4 percent).

Who will have the best career?

Ingram took first place with 26.7 percent of the votes, while Dunn took second with 16.7 percent. The Surprise? Simmons was tied for fourth with 6.7 percent of votes.

What rookie is the best defender?

Dunn took first with 23.5 percent of the votes. If coach Tom Thibodeau had a vote, he’d probably vote for Dunn, too. Gary Payton II was second with 20.6 percent.

Who was the best playmaker?

Well, duh, it was Dunn. He took 29.4 percent of the votes while Simmons had 26.5 percent.

And now, a personal question.

Which rookie is the funniest?

Dunn, again. He took 15.2 percent of the votes.

Via NBA.com and the survey: Dunn was the top vote-getter for five different questions. In the previous seven editions of the survey, the only other players to be the sole top vote-getter for more than two questions were Blake Griffin (3 in 2009) andJohn Wall (3 in 2010).

That's pretty good company, huh?
