February brought 10 home games (with only four road games) and the All-Star Break, the unofficial halfway point of the season. The Wolves started the month with a 106-101 win over the Sixers, overcoming an early 18-point deficit for the sixth-biggest comeback in team history. The "Big Three" of Kevin Garnett, Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell then scored 75 of the Wolves' points in a 113-100 win over Orlando at Target Center, completing a season sweep of the Magic.

One night later, the Wolves flew to Atlanta and ended up with a 97-89 loss, the Hawks' first win over Minnesota since Dec. 14, 1999. Minnesota rebounded with a 103-92 win over Cleveland, fueled by a season-high-tying 35 points from Garnett. It was the 14th consecutive home win for the Wolves, second-best in team history.

The home streak ended against Memphis, as Shane Battier hit a jumper with 2.9 seconds remaining and Mark Madsen missed a layup as time expired. The Grizzlies snapped the Wolves' 10-game series winning streak. In the game, Cassell missed what would have been his 72nd consecutive free throw; however, 71 tied the sixth-longest string in NBA history.

Minnesota started a five-game wining streak with a 96-84 decision over the Clippers. Before the game, the Wolves signed Martin to a second 10-day contract. A one-game road trip to Utah resulted in the team's first win over the Jazz this season. Fred Hoiberg scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter as the Wolves won 77-66. Following the win, the team headed into the All-Star Break.

The winning continued as the team regrouped for the second half of the season, starting with a 110-95 win over the Suns at Target Center. Wally Szczerbiak made his first appearance of the season in a 92-75 home win over Sacramento. In the victory, Minnesota finished the game with a rebounding edge of 26, equaling the largest such spread in franchise history. Garnett had 24 of the team's rebounds; four of his top five career single-game rebounding efforts have been against the Kings.

A nail-biter followed one night later in Detroit. The Wolves had a 10-point lead halfway through the fourth quarter but had to withstand a rally, hitting just 3-of-8 free throws in the final 31 seconds. The Pistons had a chance to win with 1.3 seconds to go, but the inbounds pass was tipped by Hoiberg and stolen by Cassell in an 88-87 Wolves win. Prior to the game, the Wolves activated center Michael Olowokandi from the Injured List.

The winning streak ended with a home loss to San Antonio, but the Wolves rebounded to win their next three. Minnesota withstood a late Bucks rally to win 108-102 in Milwaukee, snapped New Jersey's 14-game winning streak with a 81-68 Target Center win and then snapped their own two-game series losing streak to the Warriors with a 91-81 home win. With the victory, Minnesota became the first team to post victories over all 28 opponents during 2003-04.

The month ended with a 81-74 loss in Philadelphia, but Minnesota finished February by winning 11 games, the third consecutive month with at least 11 wins. The Wolves trailed the Kings by 1.5 games in the West standings but held a four-game lead over Dallas and San Antonio in the Midwest Division.

Kevin Garnett had a "three-peat" of his own in February as he took home West Player of the Month honors, the first time in the award's 25-year history that a player won it in three consecutive months. He started the month by scoring his 13,000th point against Philadelphia and finished with averages of 25.6 points, 13.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.
